Look after the complete system
A salt chlorinator converts dissolved salt into chlorine as water passes through its cell. The cell, circulation, salt concentration and water balance all need to be checked according to the equipment manufacturer's instructions.
Common checks
- Confirm adequate circulation and filtration
- Inspect and clean the cell only as instructed
- Check the salt reading against an independent test
- Keep pH within the recommended range
- Investigate warning lights rather than increasing settings blindly
